So why are we here? Seriously, why are we here? What’s the point? Life is tough, it can be really tough. We can either be selfish or selfless. Being an artist allows you to do both. Making good art is an indulgence, a privileged and a blessing. So partake of the joy of creating and give back to society the best that you can. If you believe in God than you know you are like a tool in his (or her) hand so you might as well be a good one. If you don't believe in God well then I guess art is made at least partially for your own mental health. You have to do something with the time you have and there are worse things so enjoy.

I have two favorites actually, both are bible verses that guide me.
The first is "All things are possible through God." This has been my motto for many years. It gives me strength in times of trial.
The second I love and came to while on vacation in mountains of Tennessee as I looked over the valley as the day was just starting. This verse popped in my head and I sat and wrote this poem.
Be Still

Mountains glow with morning light
As night sky wanes and fades away
Dewdrops fall to budding blooms
A gentle breeze makes treetops sway

Distant cries of hawks on wing
Piercing quickly through rising mist
Calling down to still sleeping hills
Awakes them from their dream filled bliss

Here I watch this world unfold
As slowly a new day begins
Colors and sounds blending as one
My mind is swift to take it in.

Then I knew the truth behind
The beauty there of sky and sod
I heard these words so crystal clear
"Be still and know that I am God"
Psalm 46:10

I hope that The revolutions that occured in the most Middle East region , will inspire alot of artists .
